Terms of Service

1. The Service

Bookova provides an online booking platform that connects clients with beauty and wellness businesses. Bookova is a technology platform — the actual services (haircuts, nails, etc.) are provided by independent businesses, not by Bookova.

3. Payments and Deposits

• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Bookova does not store your card information.
• Deposits go directly to the business you book with.
• Refund policies for deposits are set by each individual business.
• The $2.00 platform fee is non-refundable.

4. Cancellations and No-Shows

• Cancellation policies are set by each individual business and are displayed on their booking page before you complete a booking.
• By completing a booking, you agree to the business's cancellation policy.
• No-shows may result in forfeiture of your deposit per the business's policy.

5. SMS Communications

• If you opt in during booking, we will send you appointment reminders via SMS on behalf of the business.
• Message frequency is typically 2–3 messages per appointment.
• Msg & data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP at any time to opt out. Reply HELP for assistance.
• Opting in to SMS is not required to complete a booking.

6. User Responsibilities

• You must provide accurate contact information when booking.
• You are responsible for arriving on time to your appointment.
• You agree not to misuse the platform or attempt to circumvent its systems.

7. Business Responsibilities

Businesses using Bookova agree to:

• Provide accurate information about their services, pricing, and availability.
• Honor booked appointments and any stated cancellation policies.
• Comply with all applicable laws, including TCPA for SMS communications.
• Connect a Stripe account to receive payments.

8. Platform Availability

We strive to keep Bookova available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for losses resulting from downtime, technical issues, or third-party service failures.

9. Intellectual Property

Bookova and its logos, designs, and software are the property of Bookova. Businesses retain ownership of their own content (photos, descriptions, etc.) uploaded to the platform.

10. Limitation of Liability

Bookova is a booking platform only. We are not responsible for the quality of services provided by businesses. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bookova's liability is limited to the amount you paid in platform fees.

11. Dispute Resolution

Disputes about appointment services should be resolved directly with the business. For platform-related issues, contact us at support@bookova.app. We will attempt to mediate in good faith.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service. We will notify users of significant changes by posting the updated terms on this page. Continued use of Bookova after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the appropriate courts.
